 Incredible suspense novel. September 6, 2010

Great book. Holds your interest from the first page, just as the previous Rizzoli & Isles series does.
Wish Tess Gerritsen would write more great books, instead of wasting her time on the awful TV series she is making now. There is no comparison between the books and her TV show!

Maura Isles was heartbroken. She was in a relationship with Daniel Brophy, a Catholic priest, and things weren't going well.
Boston medical examiner, 42 year old, Dr. Maura Isles is attending a convention in Wyoming. She joins some old friends on a ski trip to the nearby snow covered mountains. Their SUV stalls out on a remote snowy road as a blizzard strikes and the mystery begins and the plot thickens and you won't ever guess the ending!
Several days later, Boston homicide detective Jane Rizzoli learns of Maura's death as her charred body was found in a ravine. Grieving Jane vows to learn what happened to her friend. Accompanying her to Wyoming is FBI agent Gabriel Dean and Father Daniel Brophy.
The reader will probably lose some sleep over this one! This is a wonderful suspense thriller that will keep the reader breathless throughout!

To the outside world, Medical Examiner Maura Isles may look a bit boring. She's a workaholic, a list maker, one to always follow the rules. But, looks can be deceiving. Wouldn't it surprise everyone to know that she is having a secret affair with a priest?
Maura even surprises herself when she agrees to take an unscheduled ski trip with an old friend, his daughter and a couple she doesn't know. Things go terribly wrong when their car skids off the road, leaving them stranded. A large snow storm is on the way and it has begun to fall. They are trapped with no way to call for help.
Even more terrifying, they don't think they are alone. Someone is stalking them and it sure doesn't seem like whoever it is wants to offer help. Will Maura be able to survive?
ICE COLD by Tess Gerritsen is a well rounded helping of everything I love to read. There was high energy, high suspense, surprising curves in every chapter and an underlying dark mystery that I had to keep reading to solve. I really connected with the main character, Maura. She has a quiet, inner strength about her that had me routing for her from the starting line.
I highly recommend this book for all suspense and mystery lovers. The romantic element here is very minimal. It's noteworthy to mention that readers looking for a good romance will most likely feel cheated with this one. With that said, if you don't mind just a hint of the love story with plenty of action, adventure, mystery and suspense, you will truly enjoy this book.
