3 out of 5 stars Hands on Research   May 30, 2010

Olivia Spencer was used to her comfortable if not boring life until she found herself snowed in at the library. Then it got very interesting when Reid Emery stumbled in after his vehicle died in the snow. She couldn't believe it. She had the gorgeous fellow author standing in her library. When she found out he was there to research a book on a local haunted house, it left her very upset. Olivia knew first hand about that house after suffering an unforgettable experience there when she was just fourteen. Just being in Reid's presence was unsettling because he brought out feelings and made her body react in ways she didn't think possible. His offer of hands on research to spice up her erotic writing skills was one she couldn't refuse.

When Brent Dresden, the library administrator, showed up to check on things, he interrupted a very intimate moment between Olivia and Reid. Reid was not happy when he found out Brent was living in this small community and felt betrayed by his unexpected presence. Olivia was confused because she had been incredibly attracted to Brent at first sight, but she also felt a pull toward Reid. She could see the animosity that existed between them, and was very surprised to see they obviously knew each other. When Reid asked Brent to join he and Olivia, she knew things were just starting to get interesting.

This was a pretty good read, but the haunting was not fully developed, and therefore a letdown. The chemistry between Brent, Olivia, and Reid was hot but with all the duplicity, not very believable. It is hard to believe it could all be forgotten so easily. I am glad I read it, but not a keeper.

Ms. Champagne weaves a readers dream. The story starts out with a bang and continues from there. What more could you ask for? A lonely woman finds herself with two men that bring her the excitement and satisfaction she once only dreamed of. The book is a keeper and I will be snapping up anything she writes.

I don't have time to review each book independently but wanted to share some ratings of several books I consider outstanding. Happy reading!

This is book is okay. It tries to have a plot and storyline but it feels like a really short story with lots of loose ends that are not tied up.

This book should have been for free because I wouldn't have wasted my money on it.

There is a couple of sex scenes that are okay, explicit but I didn't find them emotionally engaging or even exciting..just boring okay lets get through this part shall we? kind of thing.

There is a ghost story involved in there somewhere apparently but the whole thing is resolved in a paragraph??!! Really a let down.

So if you are bored and are desperate for something to read then this book is okay. hope this review helps :)
