Kindle Book Cover September 5, 2010 kido71 I have been using my Kindle Book Cover for a few weeks now, it is great in every way but two, it is a bit heavy when holding and trying to read and you can not fold the front cover back like a paperback when reading... Other than that it is great, love the purple color of the one I purchased and the quality is very good.
Great jacket for the 6" Kindle! August 31, 2010 KMP-KindleLover I bought this to protect my pride and joy (my Kindle). It was just what I was looking for. My only complaint is trying to get the side lock to attach to the Kindle itself. This is what really holds the Kindle in place, other than the corner elastics. They are very particular in how you line it up to attach it, but once you have it locked in place, it is wondeful! My daughter (18mo) thinks that it is her toy, and has dropped it once before, and the Kindle didnt even budge! I tell everyone I know how has one about this product!
Very nice but with imperfections August 20, 2010 M. Arnoldussen (Appleton, WI United States) I've had this cover for a couple of weeks now. I use my Kindle daily, so it's getting a good workout. Having sifted through all the cover options, I decided this was the best choice for me, and I still believe it is.
The appearance is very classy: purple leather with contrasting stitching plus a soft interior of gray suede fabric that seems to be kind to a Kindle. The cover feels firm and solid, which probably provides good protection.
The compatible, self storing light is very convenient and a great design.
On the down side, the cover is supposed to fold back for comfortable reading. I've tried that, and doing it stretches the suede fabric so tight that I'm concerned it will eventually rip. All I can say is, my instincts tell me it's not a good idea to fold it back, so I don't. Reading other reviews revealed that it is indeed not a good idea, as it can cause the hinge to break.
The self storing light causes the front cover to not align properly with the back cover when closed, so that the right edge of the Kindle is slightly exposed, which makes one wonder if just the right impact along that edge would result in a smashed Kindle. Frankly, I have reason to believe I need to be almost as cautious with my covered Kindle as I am with it uncovered. That edge seems very vulnerable.
The elasticized leather tabs do not stay in place quite as effectively as I would like. Other reviewers have stated that if the tabs let go and the Kindle flops on the hinge, it will break the metal hooks and crack the Kindle casing. Not good.
So, I do like this cover and its light, but with reservations. I will be cautious in its use, not fully trusting it to protect my investment.
Kindle Cover August 18, 2010 Mamie Connors (Porter, TX USA) What more can you say than I love it? I especially like that the cover is leather and durable. The color is a perferct color for me.
Stylish Kindle jacket August 3, 2010 Allusru The purple jacket for my Kindle is stylish, beautiful and very practical. It protects my Kindle, the leather is of excellent quality, and should last for many years.
