Being new to Kindle, I didn't realize when I pre-ordered the new Kindle that it was 2nd generation-Kindle 3. The case I ordered at the same time is for Kindle 2, which is too big for the 3/2nd generation.
Because I received the case a month before the new Kindle I feel I'm stuck with it or I can pay postage to send back for the correct fit.

This cover for the Kindle is great. I really like it. Easy to hold with the Kindle in it, with the cover unzipped and folded all the way back it's as if you are reading a real book. And, the front pocket is perfect for the charger cord.

The kindle cover is tough but very gentle on the hands, just what I need for everyday use and for traveling. I really like the pouch for storing the charger cord. It looks good, and protects the kindle very nicely.
