I picked this up for my Kindle and I think it's great. It definitely adds thickness to the device but that's a natural consequence of adding padding to something. It doesn't add a lot of weight and it's still thinner than most of the books I read so this is not an issue for me at all. I'm so used to holding the Kindle within this case that when I take it out, the Kindle almost feels TOO thin, like maybe I'll break it if I hold it too tightly! When my Kindle is in this case I don't worry about it one bit.
The hinge at the spine is great - it's metal so I expect it to be very durable and it mated up with my device flawlessly. The loops on the right aren't necessary to hold the device in place because it locks in so securely but they keep the back of the case from flapping around so they're a nice feature.
You can access all your ports and switches just fine while it's in the case. And as others have mentioned, it helps make it look like a notebook or dayplanner and less like an electronic device. It flips open all the way back quite easily and doesn't "fight" to stay either open or closed. Nice and flexible, very easy to handle. I read several hours per day and this has been getting handled a lot and the exterior still looks brand new. Even the binding area that spends a lot of time doubled over on itself still looks new, so the quality of the leather seems to be quite good. I'm impressed, I expected it would show wear by now - I have not been babying it along at all.
The only drawback to this case is that the inner lining is too pale! It's really nice and soft to the touch, but I'm not always doing clean things while I read and my case interior is showing some grime. That fuzzy surface is not going to be easy to clean. I'm considering adhering a patch of vinyl over the lower part of the inner flap, so that when I'm holding the case open and reading I'm not griming up the fuzzy stuff, just a surface I can wipe clean. Maybe I'll make myself a pocket - that's something the case could benefit from.
But overall I'm very happy with the case - I'd rather customize this one than buy something else. I recommend this case if you're looking to protect and/or disguise your Kindle - especially if you keep your hands cleaner than I do!

I was really worried about finding a good cover for my Kindle, but am pleasantly surprised with this cover. I read reviews of so many products here on Amazon about covers leaving stains on the kindle, cracking the Kindle or stinking to high heaven. I don't have any of these issues with my new cover. It doesn't have a smell at all, not even a leather smell. The inside of the case is a gray suede material so it will not stain. The Kindle is very secure and makes it feel like a real book.
I wish I could find one similar to this that has a zipper so I can put it in my bag without things falling down into it though. Perhaps I will just find a sleeve to slip it into.

Recently bought a Kindle for my 88 year old father. He loves it! When he was ready for a cover, he decided he'd like one that opens like a book. He loved the M-Edge GO! Black leather cover. It has a quality look for not too steep a price. The Kindle installs easily and the cover overlaps it enough so you feel the Kindle is safe. His first report was it truly feels like a book as he holds it. He enjoys the Kindle even more using it this way. This cover adds some bulk and a little bit of weight to the Kindle, but my dad didn't feel it takes away form the reading experience at all.

This item was given as a gift. The recipient enjoys it very much. It was easy to follow the directions to install the Kindle into the cover. There is no evidence of cracking of the Kindle contrary to other reviews.
